The Short Version
Direct VIP Transportation collects only what is needed to book and complete your ride: your name, your phone number, your pickup and drop-off locations, and trip details like flight numbers. We do not sell your information. We do not share it with marketers. The details of your rides stay between us.
This page explains the full picture in plain language. If anything is unclear, text (805) 825-8966 and ask. You get an answer from us, not a legal department.
What Information We Collect
When you book or ride with Direct VIP Transportation, we may collect:
- Contact details: your name and mobile number, plus email if you provide it
- Trip details: pickup and drop-off addresses, dates, times, and flight numbers for airport tracking
- Rider details you volunteer: passenger names for rides booked on someone’s behalf, car seat needs, luggage counts, and special requests
- Payment information: processed through a secure third-party payment processor; we never see or store your full card number.
That is the whole list. We do not ask for, and do not want, anything beyond what makes your ride work.
How We Use Your Information
Your information gets used for exactly four things:
- Running your ride: confirming bookings, tracking flights, sending arrival texts, and finding your front gate
- Communicating with you: quotes, confirmations, day-before check-ins, and receipts
- Improving the service: understanding which pages and trips matter most, through anonymous website analytics
- Meeting legal requirements: records required for commercial transportation, insurance, and taxes
We do not use your information for advertising lists, and we do not send marketing blasts. The only texts you get from us are about your rides.
Text Messages and Consent
When you text (805) 825-8966 or give us your number for a booking, you are agreeing to receive ride-related text messages: quotes, confirmations, reminders, and arrival notifications. Message frequency depends on your bookings. Message and data rates from your carrier may apply.
You can stop messages anytime by replying STOP. The texts are the service, though, so without them we cannot tell you we are outside.
Who Sees Your Information
Your information is shared only where the service requires it:
- Payment processors handle card transactions under their own security standards
- Flight tracking services receive flight numbers only, never your name
- Legal authorities, if a valid legal request requires it
That is the entire list. We do not sell data, rent lists, trade information with other businesses, or hand your number to anyone who wants to sell you something. The conversations, destinations, and patterns of your rides are treated as private, always.
How Your Information Is Protected
We run a small operation, and that is a security feature in itself. Your details live in a minimal set of systems, accessible only to us. Payments run through encrypted, industry-standard processors. We keep records only as long as business and legal requirements demand, and no longer.
No system is perfect, but the simplest honest protection is this: we collect very little, we share almost nothing, and there is no warehouse of your data sitting around waiting to leak.
Cookies and Website Analytics
This website uses standard cookies and analytics tools to understand how visitors use it, like which pages get read and which buttons get tapped. This data is anonymous and grouped together. It helps us make the website more useful. You can block cookies in your browser settings without affecting your ability to book a ride, because booking happens by text anyway.
Your Choices and Rights
You are in control of your information:
- Ask what we have: text us and we will tell you what is on file for you
- Correct it: a wrong number or old address is fixed with one text
- Delete it: ask us to remove your information and we will, except records the law requires us to keep
- Opt out of texts: reply STOP anytime
California residents have additional rights under the CCPA, including the right to know, delete, and opt out of the sale of personal information. Since we do not sell personal information, that last one is already handled.
Changes to This Policy
If this policy changes, the new version gets posted here with an updated date at the top. Significant changes will be noted plainly, not buried.
